Stop throwing away your spaghetti jars! There are dozens of ways to reuse spaghetti jars if you’ll take a second and give it some thought. Sure, you could recycle them and “save the planet” or you could upcycle them and save a few bucks.
Spaghetti jars are perfect for organizing, storing, collecting and containing various items around the house. Most people just trash them, but they can come in handy for various projects. Here are a few ways we reuse spaghetti jars in our home.
6 Ways to Reuse Spaghetti Jars!
1. Pen Holder
Be honest, there are pens scattered all over your house. You find them when you don’t need them, and when you need them, you can’t find them. Use a small spaghetti jar as the container for pens to keep track of those pesky runaways!
2. Grease Jar
Having trouble figuring out what to do with hot grease? Just pour it in a spaghetti jar, tighten the lid, and throw it away.
3. Hot Sauce Jar
Not much is better than homemade hot sauce, and Erin makes some killer salsa! Here’s her recipe…
- 1 large can whole stewed tomatoes
- 3 cloves of fresh garlic (minced)
- 1 sweet onion (chopped)
- 1 bunch of fresh cilantro
- 3 fresh jalapeños
- Juice from 1 lime
- Salt to taste
- Blend all ingredients together until desired consistency.
4. Drinking Glass

5. Sugar Scrub Container
Looking for an easy DIY sugar scrub? Mix these four ingredients together to pamper yourself or give to a friend!
- 1 cup of brown sugar.
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut oil or olive oil
- 1/2 tbs. vanilla extract or essential oil
6. Screw Container
Spaghetti jars aren’t the only reusable jars. I used a grape jelly jar under a work table to store miscellaneous screws. Just screw the lid into your work area, and the jar can easily be taken on or off.
